Presentation of the golf course Santa Marina Golf

  • Playing 18 holes

  • Severiano Ballesteros

Santa Marina Golf Course is one of the last courses designed by the Cantabrian Severiano Ballesteros. With this course, Cantabria has a modern and competitive golf course, located in a privileged and spectacular estate. It is a course with a great variety of holes and very integrated in the natural terrain.

The second 9 holes, the Severiano Ballesteros course, are more complicated than the first ones. The second part of the course is wider, and the long game is rewarded more, while the first part of the course has a more secluded round due to the water hazards and is absolutely flat. However, it is in this first part, the Ramón Sota course, where strategy and precision are more important, as we have several streams and obstacles that directly affect these holes (from 2 to 9).

As Seve himself has said, "the greatest difficulty of the course is on holes 4, 5 and 6, which he compares to the famous "Amen Corner", and if you pass these holes, you have the match assured".

This is a course designed to suit all types of players, it is fun and entertaining for higher handicaps, and can be a real test for professionals, where you really use all the clubs in the bag.

Santa Marina Golf has all kinds of services, such as driving range, paddle, croquet, social club,... all located in a 16th century mountain mansion and a 17th century chapel, all integrated in a natural space, where native woodlands predominate between streams that cross the estate
